Purchasing a quality cubby house is a big investment. You want to know that your children will be able to play in their playhouse for years to come, so what happens if you move? Do you have to leave your beloved cubby house behind? Not if you have a My Cubby! Our cubbies are perfect for relocating! Our range of cubby houses and forts are designed to sit directly on the ground – so they are not concreted in, making them nice and simple to move.
Some people in high wind/cyclone areas do concrete metal stirrups into the ground and then bolt the legs into them. Even these are simple to move. Just unbolt the legs and your cubby is free to be moved.
Depending on the type of cubby you have purchased, you could potentially move your cubby whole. Our Small Forts can fit on a trailer so you don’t even need to remove any screws (except the slide of course).
With our larger cubbies, it is a case of unscrewing all the screws and then it can be moved. You will find that you will be able to leave some pieces together like the balustrading – you just to remove the bottom screws, but the top screws stay attached to the handrailing, so it makes it much simplier to reattach in the new location. You are also able to leave the roofing joined to the roof battens, which saves you a big job for reassemble (this depends on the size of the vehicle moving the cubby of course). It’s also handy as the pieces are all drilled now, so no need for pre-drilling this time around!
As long as you have a big trailer for moving, with the Duplex you are able to remove the screws separating the high Fort side, from the lower level – then you can basically have 2 Small Forts which you can move and then join back together! With the Triplex and Mega Triplex you can do this as well, but the lower level will need to be dismantled – this area would be too big to move as one piece.
Time wise … it would take around an hour to fully disassemble a Small Fort and with our largest cubby, the Mega Triplex, about two hours. Re-assembly should be done in about 4 hours for the Mega.
Another great thing about re-installing our cubbies, is each time you do it, it gets easier as you know what you are doing! Your My Cubby can follow you wherever you go!
