The Importance Of Play For Older Children.

Play – it’s not just for littlies! When we think of play, we tend to think of younger children: usually eight or under, playing games of hide and seek and tag, having fun with dolls and cars, going on imaginary adventures, pretending to be pirates or unicorns. It’s true that younger children love these kinds of games. However, play is important for older children, too! In fact, play is important for children – and adults – of all ages. And spending hour after blissful hour jumping and somersaulting on my big trampoline. Yes, I sustained injuries during my outdoor adventures – plenty! And sure, … Read More

Outside play in Winter, it’s important and fun!

Outside play isn’t just for when the weather is fine. Children need to be encouraged to play and be active outdoors all through the year. Not only is playing in the cooler months necessary to maintain a healthy and active lifestyle, social skills, learning and keen imagination, outside play in Winter can be the most fun play of all! Kids love the wet weather! It’s magical to play in the rain. There is no need to restrict children to inside play in Winter, just rug them up in their coats, hats and gloves and get outside! The rain makes the colours … Read More
