Save yourself some present-buying stress this Christmas!

“MUM! DAD! Is that my Christmas present?” We’ve all been there. (At least, I hope we all have …) It’s five weeks before Christmas, the kids have been searching the house for 45 weeks, trying to sniff out their Christmas booty, until EUREKA! They’ve found your cunningly clever Christmas-present hiding spot (it’s always at the top of a cupboard, isn’t it?). Sigh. And that’s just ONE annoying bit about Christmas-present buying. There’s also: Battling the shopping centre crowds. Being forced to listen to the same Christmas jingles in each shop. DECIDING what to buy (ugh!). Wasting heaps of money on … Read More

The Importance Of Play For Older Children.

Play – it’s not just for littlies! When we think of play, we tend to think of younger children: usually eight or under, playing games of hide and seek and tag, having fun with dolls and cars, going on imaginary adventures, pretending to be pirates or unicorns. Look, I mean sure, there was sun, and family, and food … all of that good stuff – but something happened last Christmas that made me reassess if the memories my children were making at yuletime would have the same impact on their lives as they grew as the memories that my childhood have given me. And it all has to do with ‘stuff’. Too. Much. Stuff! It began with us. In the lead-up to Christmas … Read More

Best Cubby House from 2013

The My Cubby Best Cubby House from 2013 was voted by the public of Australia as this gorgeous Mega Triplex, created by the Hedge Family. We love that it was an extended family effort – grandparents, parents and kids all helping to create this amazing colour scheme. They should be very proud of themselves! It’s a tough job working out the colour schemes and all these colours just work perfectly. We love the addition of the checkered flooring. The family chose to change the sides over of their cubby which works perfectly in their yard. The addition of the slide, sandpit … Read More
